Doing First Grade The Write Way!

My Students

This year, my class has a lot of diversity. Most of my students this year have different needs and requirements to help forward their learning. My class is truly unique in ways that each individual is extremely different. I have students with allergies, highs and lows, IEPs, etc. and my students work together as a community to take care of each other and look out for one another in these trying times. I am really impressed by how they have come together to get through the requirements of them to help each other in class. We are a family.

My Project

The resources will directly relate to helping students with writing work, handwriting and math. I am requesting ink for my classroom printer so students in first grade have that hands on opportunity to write on paper. Too much curriculum and teaching is moving online and I think it's important for first graders and young students to get those handwriting motor skills while they are in the first few years of schooling.

I am requesting art supplies such as colored paper, construction paper, markers, crayons and glue sticks to help with art projects that they can use from home if we go back to virtual learning over zoom.

Each student will get there own glue stick and box of crayons.

I also am requesting some math supplies for math centers and lessons that will help with number sense and place value and counting up and down on a number line!

Students will use these resources to help them with their fine motor skills, math number sense and will benefit by gaining the age appropriate and hands on learning to continue with academics.
