My students are eager to learn! They come to school wanting to learn and ask lots of questions. My students are always looking for ways to share with others the projects we are doing in our classroom. Our school is a magnet school in a large, urban school district. The school is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. As an IB program, we focus on global themes that students can relate to and want to know more about.
At our school, we encourage inquiry and questioning of how things work and why.
We focus on hands-on inquiry. We believe in the power of choice and having lots of options to help us learn.
My Project
We need a color printer and plenty of ink to document what we are learning. We would use this to print pictures of us working on science investigations, math projects and inquiries of all kinds. We will be able to print and make documentation walls about our progress in these projects. It will let kids see where they started and remember each step along the way. They can also share the progress of a project with their classmates, parents and other teachers.
Through documentation and display, children see their own ideas and images having an impact on the physical space around them.
It will provide a record of the learning process, reveal connections between events, help them review past experiences and plan future experiences.
