My students need a document camera and colored pens for our classroom. The document camera allows for more scaffolded instruction, while the pens work to motivate students and encourage editing in writing.

My Students
My school is a Title l building located in a low-income area and provides 100% free and reduced-price lunch. Many of my students live in poverty and come to school tired, hungry, and in need of love. Due to these outside factors, many of my students have low executive functioning skills and struggle greatly with attention to task and self-control.
Despite their circumstances, my students are thirsty to learn, grow and improve.
We work hard every day to be learners and leaders. It is my goal as their teacher to help provide them with the tools they need to be successful. My hope is that all of my students leave my room feeling loved, inspired and hopeful for the future.
My Project
The document camera is needed for my students to receive more guided instruction. This allows my students to watch me work alongside them in math and writing. Many of my students benefit from working step by step with me and this document camera allows us to do that.
The colored pens work as a reinforcer in our classroom.
Students love being able to work with these pens when grading their work, editing their writing and to encourage them when tasks get tough. Many of my students are more willing to keep going when their work gets hard when they know they can use a colorful pen throughout the process.
