My Students

I love my job and am fortunate to have students who are enthusiastic and willing to learn. In my class, I have students of so many personalities, and this makes it exciting. It is important that students are engaged with practical and also fun projects so everyone can enjoy learning! I will try!

I teach two different pre-algebra classes.

One is that of a slower paced review level and one moves at a faster pace. Both levels are so great to teach and challenge the students and teachers. I'm lucky to be in a district with great support from administration and parents. Students feel this and work hard to not only please teachers and parents, but work to challenge themselves, and this is indeed special. Whether it is review material that students need or advanced higher level curriculum, I love the mere fact that I am up there helping students. This is a huge responsibility and I consider myself lucky for that!

My Project

The Elmo camera will undoubtedly help the practicality of the classroom. Right now I use an old overhead in my class and there are so many times I want to show students documents and assignments. The camera is such a simple, yet effective idea to project any document or manipulative for students to view and learn. Importantly, there are so many times I see great individual and creative work from students and want everyone to see it clearly. The camera will help with this and allow students to feel proud and more confident!

Showing students' work will raise the level of awareness in the classroom and allow for students to understand expectations.

Projecting images of what the teacher is working on in real time will also help in aiding student understanding.
