This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school serves a high number of socially and economically disadvantaged students. Most of my students qualify for free lunch in school. My fifth-grade class is very diverse in their academics. They range from far below basic to advanced levels. Some are students with special needs and accommodations and others are students who need enrichment. Some are English language learners while others are fluent in the English language. But they are all eager for education; however, the lack of resources prevents them from getting motivated and truly showcasing their talents.

Many of my students have a variety of hardships at home, but at school, I try to make it a positive place where they can grow, learn, and be successful.

They come to school with big dreams, and I want to provide the best learning environment for them.

My Project

Distance learning has truly been a challenge for both students and teachers. I have learned that having the necessary tools to provide engaging instruction is crucial. I need the Epson DC-07 Document Camera to make my teaching more productive and engaging. For instance, I often need to project core literature books because many students don't have a hard copy. Furthermore, it is necessary to help guide students during note-taking time during math and equally as important to model newly introduced concept in science.

Many students are visual learners, therefore, I believe that by providing resources that will engage students in purposeful planned lessons will make their learning easier and more productive.
