Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"The important thing in science is not so much to obtain new facts as to discover new ways of thinking about them." William Lawrence Bragg
I teach seventh and eighth grade science in a 5-8 grade middle school in CA.
Our community is very diverse with many cultures represented. Most of our children qualify and receive free or reduced-price lunch, which means many of our children live in poverty.
Even though our children come from many disadvantaged homes, they come to school happy and so excited to learn. They know that they will leave with new knowledge every day.
My Project
As we continue with distance learning, I want to make sure I provide high quality instruction to my 7th and 8th graders by enhancing my synchronous and asynchronous learning lessons. With this document camera, I could easily teach all of our science lessons and financial literacy lessons.
I want my students to experience a realistic virtual classroom environment while they learn with me during distance learning at home!
I will be able to utilize the document camera as I would in the classroom. I could model and teach my financial literacy lessons with my students in front of me on Google Meet, or I can record a lesson for viewing while they work asynchronously on their own.
Thank you for supporting my 7th and 8th grade students and their education during this difficult time.
