My Students

I am teaching at a brand new school this year. There are many things that a new school needs, whether it's furniture, supplies, or whiteboards. During the first years at a new school, there's not much extra money to purchase subscriptions for programs that excel learning in the classroom.

To many of my students, school is their favorite place to be.

Therefore, I want my classroom to be welcoming and warm with many options for unique seating and comfortable learning areas.

It is important that my second graders are provided with options when they are learning, while being engaged, yet also being comfortable.

My Project

Having a document camera will make it easier for students to see manipulatives being moved around during math time. It is so much easier for kids to understand math concepts when they can see it and do it with their hands. The document camera will sit on my desk next to the computer so I can be monitoring my kids and demonstrating math techniques throughout the lesson. This will make things so much easier when trying to display worksheets so we can do them together and not just do it independently. Thank you so much for your generosity and donation!

When students are able to see what I am doing with my math manipulatives under the document camera, they are able to understand more clearly what it is they are supposed to be doing.

For my visual learners, this will make a huge difference. Instead of me telling them to move three red counters to three yellow counters and find the answer when adding, they can watch me do it first and then follow my steps.
