This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in my Crafts and Ceramics I and II classes come from a low socioeconomic and underprivileged environment. The majority of my classes are made up of tenth to twelfth grade, male and female students of African American and Hispanic descent. Living in the city environment that surrounds them, students channel all of their demographics into the art they create in my classes.

My students come to school each day knowing they get a chance to relieve the stresses and triumphs they are faced within their home lives.

Even before entering my classroom, students are eager, excited, and ready to get creative! Many come during their lunch to continue working on projects and some even stay after school!

My Project

Since we have been 100% remote since September, it has been very challenging for students to learn different art topics that I teach. Of coarse I post step by step instructions and videos of me doing the projects but when demonstrating live it is hard for my students to see what I am drawing or making.

Having this document camera will allow for students to watch what I am making in actual time.

The drawing tool will also allow me to draw live on screen instead of me drawing and holding up what I made which can be hard to see on the small Zoom blocks.
