My students need an organized area for the iPads to go when not in use. This case will provide that space, as well as keeping them charged and ready to be used by all students.

My Students
My students are curious and eager to have a warm, safe place for learning. Even though our school is Title 1, our teachers do everything we can to provide the best for our young learners, so that they may strive in an environment where they know their education matters.
This will be my first year in my own classroom and I am working hard at organizing the space to maximize an effective learning environment for all my students.
In my classroom we focus on Balanced Literacy. I envision a comfy area with a rug and cushions, a book shelf full of books where students could spend time reading independently or with a buddy, a listing station, and an iPad center. This is also the area where whole group instruction and morning meetings take place. Not only will this area enhance our learning process, it would help build community within our classroom.
My Project
Being a STEM school learning to use technology as an educational tool is crucial. In first grade we use our iPads for our literacy AND math centers, so it is important that we keep them organized, fully charged and accessible. This docking station will help achieve all those goals. We live in an age where children need to stimulate the senses. Using the classroom iPads will activate learning through visual, auditory and touch. For some of my students this will be the only opportunity they will have to interact with this type of learning. At the beginning of these students educational journey learning to use and take care of school supplies in an appropriate manner is a needed life skill.
