Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

Help me give my students the materials to create Grinch slime and clay snowmen while reading and following directions.

My Project

Following directions is an important reading skill for life. Readers need to be able to read and follow directions in order to put something together, follow a recipe, travel to a new place, as well as perform many other tasks.

The materials in this project will allow students to practice following directions in a hands-on way.

My second graders will read or listen to directions in order to assemble holiday snowmen using a canvas, glue, and Snowman clay kits. They will also read and follow directions to create Grinch slime and store their creations in the requested containers. The best part is that these activities can be enjoyed over and over during winter recess at home.
