it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Walk into my classroom and you will find students engrossed in different kinds of learning. Some are working in small groups, others independently, and some on computers. Technology is an essential part of my day. Many of my students are below grade level or are English Language Learners. Having the ability to work on computers throughout the day allows me to better target their individual educational needs. These students are working on mastering not only the skills of 3rd grade, but are also in the process of learning English as a second language.
They do their best and come to school ready to learn and face the day, tackling all tasks in their path.
I am always encouraged by their dedication to a growth mindset. I want to create a supportive environment that they deserve and crave. My students are inquisitive, compassionate and creative with a wide range of educational needs, but a sincere love of learning. When given the supplies that they need, my amazing students always flourish because they have the desire to succeed.
My Project
I am asking for your help to provide all of my students with a pair of headphones to help them receive tailored instruction for their specific achievement level. Our students have Chromebooks to use in the classroom, and online software that tests their understanding of all strands of math, reading, and language. It gives them specific instruction to help aid their understanding. With the headphones, your donations will provide, they will be able to go through lessons individually.
Your donation will allow them to work at their own pace and give my students a better chance for a deeper understanding of the learning concepts.
Having technology means that students are able to interact with the world around them in an engaging and meaningful way. Independent practice through the use of technology provides an opportunity for students to work at their own pace. Students are able to access helpful videos, songs, and interactive experiences that reinforce the concepts learned in my classroom. The possibilities for learning through the use of technology would be endless if each student had their own pair of headphones.
