Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have a Kindergarten classroom of 17 amazing young learners. Most of them are from Spanish speaking homes. My school district has frozen the budget this year, so I have no access to funds to outfit my new classroom (I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 5 years before).

The kids in my class are not always comfortable speaking before the group in English, since it is not their first language. I have been looking for ways to inspire them to speak more, so they develop the skills they will need to be successful throughout their education.

These materials will really help my class to learn to speak. The library of photo cards are great to inspire both their speaking and writing. We could have many conversations jump started by looking at these 270 cards. The question of the day chart kit would be a great inspiration. The kids love to give their opinion on things and they would love interacting with the velcro pieces. I can almost hear their voices already!

Your help would give a voice to children who are just learning their potential. I can't tell you how exciting it is to be involved with these kids. I hope you will join me in helping them soar even farther.
