This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach English Language Learners and I am always trying to find ways to get them talking. Speaking can be very intimidating to students and they need a lot of practice in order to feel comfortable.
Enter Jenga!
I read about someone who puts numbers on the Jenga blocks and the numbers correspond to specific questions, vocabulary study, verb tenses, tasks to do, etc. The possibilities are endless for topics to get the students talking. I am asking for multiple so I can have table teams compete against each other to make it even more fun and engaging.
Nowadays, there is so much to do on the computer to help students learn and stay engaged. That is a wonderful tool, but I want to try and have more learning opportunities that have students interacting in meaningful ways. Thank you for your help in reaching my goal!
