My students need art supplies like colored pencils, oil pastels and glitter glue to create eye-catching visuals that will attract the attention of community members. They also need poster board, ribbon, stencils, and craft tape.
We are a third grade classroom that really enjoys project-based learning and often incorporates the engineering design process into our projects. We are very artistic, creative, and have lots of ideas that we love to see come to life!
Our class is made up of 23 third grade students that come from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
Some of us speak Spanish in the home and we are all learning Spanish here at school. Our school is a Pre-K - 8th grade Academy with a STEAM focus. We are in Wake County, about 15 minutes from downtown Raleigh.

My Project
The students will be using the art supplies to create posters and other visual materials for our community service project. They will be collecting donations (non-monetary) for a few different local organizations and creating persuasive presentations to encourage others to support them.
This project will help students and adults in our school community to understand how organizations support the people and animals that live here.
They will also be able to share their support and learn different ways they can help.
