My Students
Every day, working with my students is a learning opportunity. Our classroom embraces diversity with students of different abilities. Our ICT classroom is full of diverse learners, including students with special needs and English language learners, so we want to create an environment where all learners can succeed in their own way.
Catering to student interests and strengths is critical to help students be successful.
Students should feel a sense of ownership in their learning and be motivated to want to explore and learn more. Our class is full of students wanting to learn and explore new things every day, and despite the challenges that they may face, they are always striving to do their best.
I believe learning should be fun and interactive! I want to create an environment where my students have fun learning and continue to explore their questions and wonderings.
My Project
Shapes and patterns are everywhere in our everyday life! At the National Museum of Mathematics, our first graders will be able to play and experience with shapes in every day objects. Students can ride square-wheeled tricycles and learn why tricycles and bicycles have circular wheels. They can also shoot basketballs into a hoop using a robot by using math to calculate for the best shot.
It's amazing how much math there is in our daily life that we don't always notice, and MoMath will allow our first graders to get a first hand play experience with math in real life.
How exciting! After we explore the museum, we will have a chance to participate in the Tessellation Station. Students will use different shapes to create their own special patterns. STEAM is very important in developing curious, creative, and critical thinking learners, so we are very excited to have a chance to experience math through this field trip.
