My Students
Oakland community is hub of diversity that I am lucky to be a teacher in. Our students come from a diverse city and truly reflect the city of Oakland.
We have students from every ethnicity, socio-economic status, and much more.
Being a first year teacher I have big plans to help our students become the best Titan they can be.
Being online is tough for everyone, but my students show up on phones, in cars, and do their best no matter what.
Our school provides our students a place of safe learning. During this time we try to track every student's learning and reach out whenever you can. They show up most days ready to learn and engage in activities provided for them. My school is working to provide urban students with all the amenities a student growing up in America should have. It can be tough at times because we are working against poverty, violence, and drugs that plague our community.
My Project
As we have been teaching digitally over the past few months I have learned about so many incredible programs and websites that help students see and interact with math in different ways. A Wacom Tablet is a tool that can help both at a distance and in-person learning. With this Wacom Tablet, students can engage with distance learning in a much more powerful way by using it for completing and exploring assignments in Desmos, Clever, and much more!
This tablet brings working on paper virtually, which is a powerful tool that our students have been missing (they tell me everyday).
