My Students
Did you ever feel the glow of the stage lights? Most performers can recall the first time the whole world focused on them and they brought the house down with a spectacular performance under the stage lights. Our kids are not able to have that feeling because we have outdated lights in our theater.
Students at our schools come from very challenging backgrounds.
We have 72% Free and Reduced Lunch and many of our kids struggle with extreme poverty. Our building was built in the early 60s and has not been updated since. The facilities are lacking many basic aspects of a functioning theater. Many theater students specifically come to the performing arts as an outlet, a way of escape. Our program provides opportunities for students to be featured on stage and gives them a new way to confidently approach all of the challenges in their life.
My Project
Your gift toward this stage light package will go a long way towards shaping a child's sense of self as a performer. Having a school with professional equipment makes you have hope. Each child that comes to the stage and feels the special glow of this bright light enveloping them, will be forever changed. They may even become the future stars of stage and screen all because of your gift.
Overcoming obstacles takes confidence.
This type of confidence is born out of a student stepping into the stage lights and giving it their best performance. The materials necessary to change lives in this way should not be out of reach for our students simply because of their limited monetary resources.
