My Project

We have used these types of rewards to help motivate students to grow in their online Math program. This online program, alongside our classroom curriculum, has been able to show tremendous growth in our students who are coming to us well below grade level. Our students come from low-income houses, and most students' only chance to get these rewards they love is to earn them at school by showing growth!

I do not care if you are 3 grade levels behind, we must get better this year.

If you are on grade level, it Doesn’t Matter you need to get better.

Our classroom core values of Together, Passion, Grit, and Humility, coupled with our DMGB mindset, form our plan to push students to grow in Math!

Together is the entire class working together. Not causing disruptions to slow growth. Willing to help others and ask for help from others in the room.

Passion is everyone working with a passion for success. In our class, success doesn’t always mean A’s; it means growth. Continuous growth!

Grit is what we call academic toughness! Willingness to attack a challenge. Work when it isn’t easy and never give up!

Humility is making sure everyone is comfortable in the classroom environment. No student is better than anyone else. Students can feel safe asking questions or for help.

Our mindset, coupled with the ability to reward students for displaying these core values in pursuit of academic growth, has shown growth on all levels. Students who have historically struggled in math have grown multiple grade levels. Students who came on grade level have pushed themselves as much as 3 grade levels higher to high school math!!!
