My Students

I love being a teacher to 5th grade students! My class knows we are a "family" coming together with many different talents, ambitions and backgrounds. We share a commonality in that we all have a fire and passion inside us. As their teacher, I light their fire and keep them hungry for knowledge.

I attended the Ron Clark Academy last year.

One of the awesome components that bring life to the students involve the use of Djembe drums. These were used to help celebrate students' successes and focus.

My Project

I attended Ron Clark Academy and saw that each class had their own set of Djembe drums. I loved seeing the excitement on the students' faces as the drums were used to celebrate successes and encourage students who struggled. I was astonished at their high level of focus and the sense of a happy community that was apparent. I want my students to love school and embrace learning!

Also, these drums will be a motivator to students who have extra energy and need a positive way to channel their energy.

I am eagerly anticipating implementing these drums into my classroom.
