My students need "people colored" crayons, colored pencils, and paper to honor the diverse classroom they learn in!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten students speak six languages and represent six countries! My students are curious, energetic, and they love learning.
My students spend their day learning in both English and Spanish.
We are a low income, dual language community school, where everyone knows each other. They have built such a close community and really help one another grow as friends and learners. They do not always have all of the resources they need at home, but they care so much about learning.
My Project
After hearing my students constantly call the peach crayon "skin color" I became so sad. That color does not match the majority of the students' skin color in my classroom, and they should not need to think that peach is the correct skin color.
People colored crayons, colored pencils, and paper that actually matches the color skin of my students honors the diversity of our classroom and the culture of my students.
I am to teach with a culturally diverse lens, and these supplies would help to do so. How can I ask a student to do a self portrait or draw their family when they don't have the materials that accurately match their family culture?
