My Students
My students are such a joy to have. They are amazingly talented and bright, and I am excited for this school year. They are destined to do great things, and this year will be one of the best. Some of my students need a little more motivation than others, however all are willing to learn and explore new things.
Despite all circumstances, my students deserve the best possible education.
With the right resources and materials, I know that my students can excel even more than they are now.
My Project
Every year the demographic of my students varies. Students come in different shades, shapes and sizes, and despite all those differences, they are still similar in so many ways. The twenty-nine books I have chosen explore the lives of fictional and non-fictional characters that represent students from many walks of life.
Seeing people that look, act and experience life like they do makes my students feel included in society, and reinforces a positive view of themselves.
I am sure my students have seen themselves and those that look that them, portrayed in many ways. How awesome is it that they get to see and read encouraging books about people that look like them, and have compassion for those that don't.
Help my students understand the importance of diversity, and that just because we seem different, doesn't mean we don't have things in common.
