Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a special education teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Our classroom is made up of students that have multiple abilities and disabilities that affect their academic learning. The majority of my students come from low-income families, with limited resources. Every single one of my students is unique in their own way and makes the world a brighter place.
My Project
Every child deserves to see themselves and their peers positively represented in books! These books will provide my students with educational experiences to support their learning. Reading books that represent all of the students in our class will inspire my students to create an inclusive school community where everyone is valued and accepted!
These books will be used in read alouds throughout the school year.
Students will also have access to them in our classroom library! Each child is unique and they deserve to know they are welcomed and loved in my classroom.
