My Students

Welcome to our classroom! We are a 5/6 multiage classroom with 49 students. Our school is located in Northern Michigan. We are a proud Glasser Quality School with a large emphasis on character education. We have been working very hard on updating our curriculum this year. As a result, we are providing reading and math instruction using a workshop model. This allows the students to work with math and reading at their individual levels. The growth of our students using this model has been remarkable, and the students are enjoying school so much more.

My Project

This project, if funded will offer my students materials that will help them embrace the diversity of our classroom and also foster camaraderie through play and puzzles. There are also a few classroom materials that go with our classroom theme of WILDERNESS. We are located in Northern Michigan and my students have a love of the outdoors. The theme of wilderness is one that my students love and is familiar to all without being too childish for my soon to be middle school students. It is important that students have activities that bring each other together to create a strong sense of community and that there are a variety of activities that they can engage with.
