This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hello everyone, I am a preschool special education teacher in an inclusive setting, With a total of 21 students. Collaborating with the state preschool has helped my students’ growth. All of my students come from a low-income background. My kiddos are all very eager to learn.
My Project
I want my students to have a library full of diversity and also a fun way to make connections through literacy. These books represent different abilities, cultures, beliefs and skin colors. These books will help my students relate to characters in books and maybe see themselves in the characters. Also, these books will also help my students understand their homes, communities and the world. With these books my students will be able to use their imaginations, expand their vocabularies and gain a better understanding of themselves and others around them.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
