My Project
Later this year, we're planning to have a literature circle unit where students are able to choose between 4 books to read in small groups. We have some excellent books in our book room but are lacking larger sets of contemporary texts.
Fruit of the Drunken Tree will provide students with a current and engaging choice from a voice that is not typically featured in our school curriculum.
It would be so exciting to be able to offer a contemporary book that will allow for great discussions about understanding and unpacking our own privilege, as well as discussing what effective allyship can look like.
