My Students
The students at our school are located in Northeastern Nash County North Carolina. Although we are a low preforming school our students are creative and outgoing. The students are in a low-income rural area of North Carolina. Our school has amazing support from our families and participation in activities often exceeds expectations. Our students are special because they have awesome ideas and dreams that amaze us as their educators. We teach our students to dream big and to excel at all they put their minds to.
My Project
Our school is made up of a diverse population of students. While reading these books both at home and having them read aloud to view virtually students can envision themselves in every story. Picture books and chapter books will both reflect our students. Our students will see that possibilities are endless.
By diversifying our media center, our african american and hispanic population will feel that they actually see themselves come alive in the books they are reading.
These books will be used to reflect our student body as a whole.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
