My Project

This project seeks to promote a love of reading among high school students by expanding and curating our classroom library with highly-engaging and diverse books. Our students have a strong culture of reading, and they eagerly tear through the available texts each year. However, to keep this enthusiasm for reading alive and to encourage students to keep discovering new ideas and perspectives, it is essential to continue updating and curating our reading shelves.

Our high school students have a passion for reading, and this project seeks to provide them with an even more extensive selection of books to fuel their curiosity and love of literature.

This year alone, our students have collectively read over 500 books in their independent reading pursuits, and they are eagerly asking for more. By expanding and curating our classroom library selection, we can continue to foster hope, expand curiosity, and inspire a continued love of reading in our students.

The new selection of books will include highly-engaging texts that represent diverse voices and experiences, providing students with a window into different cultures and perspectives. These texts will include contemporary literature, non-fiction, and graphic novels to a range of interests and learning styles.

The impact of this project will be measured by the level of engagement and enthusiasm for reading among our students, as well as the development of their critical thinking, empathy, and understanding of the world around them. By promoting a love of reading and expanding our students' knowledge and perspectives, we can empower them to be informed, empathetic, and compassionate individuals.
