Because of you, our students have a wealth of games to choose from during their lunch period. Your support has already had a meaningful impact on our students. Since having these games, we have observed an increase in student engagement, positive peer interaction, and laughter. \r\n\r\nThis project has allowed students' voices to be heard. They were excited to unwrap and play games that students had ranked in their top five favorites for the lunchroom. Our staff jumped right in, and as a team, we compiled a video featuring each department's top five games along with important expectations to remember while playing. This was shown to our students so that they understood the expectations of positive peer engagement and responsible behavior which they have demonstrated. \r\n\r\nThrough this shared effort, students not only learned appropriate social behaviors but also strengthened positive interactions during unstructured, down-time. Lunch has become a space where students can connect and enjoy healthy social engagement. As one student shared, \"Lunch used to feel boring, but now it's something I look forward to.\" Another student commented, \"The games help me talk more to my classmates.\" We believe these games will continue to provide our students with fun opportunities to engage and connect, leaving an overall lasting impact on our school climate. \r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for your investment in our students' well-being and sense of community. Your generosity has already made a meaningful difference, and we appreciate your support in enhancing student engagement beyond the classroom. MHS students and staff are grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1757804394079,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-promoting-social-and-emotional/9683904/","projectTitle":"Game On: Promoting Social and Emotional Growth at Lunch","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fink","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/329782"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28101","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":450,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":72,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":58.0,"schoolId":28101,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Macomb High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Macomb High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/macomb-community-unit-school-district-185/macomb-junior-senior-high-school/28101"}
