My Students
My students are motivated, hardworking, and they truly want to succeed in school. Not only do their parents value education, but they see the great value in it too.
Our school has so much spirit.
Our students look forward to coming to school everyday, even remotely, because the staff and student body make it such a wonderful place to be.
We live in an awesome community that gives so much support to make sure our students are working to their full potential.
My Project
Our school has recently committed to bring the Project LIT! curriculum to our campus in order to further promote an enjoyment of reading and a celebration of diverse texts. To do this, I'm trying to incorporate the books recommended and vetted by Project LIT! which features diverse characters and authors to get students thinking about texts outside of the traditional cannon.
These books will help broaden my students' perspective and increase their empathy and understanding of people's lives that are very different from their own.
Reading is a huge part of my classroom, and now my students will have access to a wide variety of diverse texts that will get them thinking about equity, inclusion, and racial justice.
