Our school is located in San Diego, CA. We are a small neighborhood school, and we call ourselves "the small school with a big heart." I have 33 smart, kind, energetic and collaborative fifth graders, all with diverse backgrounds and learning styles. My class is fully inclusive and has a variety of needs.
When special learning needs are met, kids are more successful and feel more confident when learning.
Flexible work spaces can help these students learn and grow in alternate work spaces.
All students have different learning needs. Some of these students need to sit on the floor, some might stand, and many need to move while they are working. Traditional classrooms (that many of us attended) had students in rows and in the same space all day long. This environment did not encourage or support all students and their needs.
I want to create a classroom environment that supports students diverse learning needs.
I have an inclusive classroom that includes students with autism, ADHD, and other learning styles. Flexible seating allows all students to work in places that support their learning the best.
