Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students learn through hands on experiences and through hearing stories about the world around them. I love seeing students make a connection about their world, and this collection of books will allow that to happen time and time again together on our reading rug.

Help me give students picture books featuring characters and stories from a diverse span of backgrounds.

These books give students a glimpse into worlds that are latino American, Black American, Indigenous American and neurodivergent. For some of my students, a given book will give them new perspective and empathy as they consider a way of being different from their own. For others, it will allow them the opportunity to see their identity affirmed on the pages of a book in their classroom. For all of them, the experience will be incredibly valuable.
