This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Eager, energetic, enchanting... words that describe my students! The 10 and 11 year olds in my class have a curiosity and desire to learn about the world around them.
These students have so much spirit and bring joy to our learning community.
Our school is a Title I school and students in my class don't always have the academic tools needed to support their learning.
As their teacher, I want to bring them experiences and learning materials that meet their diverse and naturally inquisitive personalities.
My Project
When given choices, my students are more engaged and better invested in their own learning. Offering a variety of seating options will help my students pick the best spot for focused learning.
Empowering my students with flexible seating options will give them ownership of their learning and a customized learning environment.
We know students all have different needs, and the wobble stools will allow my extra-energy students to sit in a way that channels their energy so they can learn.
The floor cushions will allow collaborative group work, in any free floor space in our classroom. We can maximize our classroom footprint! The flexibility of floor cushions means we can work in pairs, teams, or find a corner to read comfortable alone.
