I have an incredible group of 2nd graders who are always eager to learn. They come from diverse backgrounds and learning abilities. Some of my students come from disadvantaged neighborhoods and are struggling with basic reading and mathematical skills. I also have students who excel in reading and want to continue to learn and grow daily.
We will use supplies through donorschoose.org in our classroom daily to enhance their learning in all subject areas---reading, writing, and math.
We are a brand new school and we lack a lot of essential resources. The enthusiasm for education starts at a young age.
According to Dr. Seuss, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
My Project
My goal is to create a holistic learning environment by providing them resources that are relatable.
I strongly believe that we can foster their love for reading by exposing them to various different types of literature that portray diversity.
All students can be successful if we strive to meet the holistic needs of the children. Reading culturally diverse books leads children to expand their thinking like never before.
Funding from this project will furnish us with books at different levels for students that enhance diversity and inclusion, especially during the troubling times that we are in as a country. My students and I thank you in advance for your kind donations!
