My Students

I am a new librarian at my K-5th grade Title I school in Central Florida. I am so excited to work with our entire student body on a weekly basis and to help them develop a life-long love for learning and reading!

Our students are respectful, curious, kind, courageous, have integrity, and always preserver!

They are learners who thrive in our school community where academic successes are celebrated, and they are given opportunities to grow emotionally and socially.

My Project

This project seeks to provide diverse books that represent my students. These books will be added to our school library, giving all students access to new and great books! Putting books with diverse characters into the hands of students allows them to view the world through the character's point of view. This helps all students develop empathy and appreciation for diversity. It is also very important that all students see themselves represented in the books in our library. At a first year librarian, creating a more diverse collection of books for students has been one of my top goals. I am eager to give students the opportunity to read some amazing diverse books and get excited about reading!
