My Students
My students make me want to teach for a lifetime in this urban environment. They are part of one of the largest urban school districts in MA. There are 52 languages spoken in our school community. We struggle with many of the same issues all urban schools struggle with: full classrooms, not enough supplies, the many faces of poverty, but that is not what defines my students!
My Project
I am so excited to bring diverse books to my classroom as students come back to school. I will be introducing a new course on graphic novels and want my students to have access to multiple perspectives.
There are so many great authors from the global majority whose voices are echoed in my own classroom. Please help me bring their voices into my classroom.
The delight of seeing the look on my student's faces when they see themselves reflected in literature is unparalleled, and I am hoping to be able to fill my classroom with lots of new texts.
