Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is composed of a diverse group of students who are immensely creative, kind, and have a passion for service. At our Title I-funded school, 100% of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and a government-provided snack. As a result, acquiring supplies can be quite challenging.
My hope is to provide the tools necessary for my students to be curious, find joy, and success in fifth grade!
My Project
My students absolutely LOVE reading! They are always sharing about what they have enjoyed reading, and I've been witness to several impromptu book talks between students. In order to maintain the reading momentum that we have established in our classroom, I would love to continue building our classroom library.
I would love to add several biographies to our library, particularly diverse biographies, because my students enjoy learning about the people that impacted our country in wonderful ways.
Additionally, students ask for more sports themed books and specific book sets that they are interested in reading.
