My Project
My students, both past and present, know they can come to my classroom to find new, exciting books to read. Some of my students read avidly, while some of my students are more reluctant to read. Either way, we are able to connect through our mutual love of reading or through helping to find the perfect book for their interests. Discussing and swapping books with one another has been so fun, and it has even helped me to read more!
This project will allow me to add diverse titles to our classroom library-- It is crucial that students have access to books that differ from their own experience, so they can view other perspectives and become compassionate, empathetic people to the world around them.
Whether my students are avid readers or reluctant readers, they are learning to love reading again, which has been so rewarding. I love watching their love for reading grow and flourish, and it is important to me that I am able to keep providing titles for them to checkout. Please help me add modern, young adult diverse titles to our classroom library so my students can learn about the different cultures, human experiences, and the world!
