My Project

Imagine you are a scuba diver swimming through beautiful tropical corals, surrounded by schools of curious, colorful fish. The beauty of this underwater world is diverse and breathtaking. To be a successful scuba diver you need the right equipment, teachers and training.

Just like scuba diving, students need the right equipment, teachers and training to be successful.

About half of the students in my classroom come from low income circumstances and many of them do not have access to basic equipment like headphones, scissors and organizers. Having these supplies will allow all students, whatever their circumstances, the ability to dive into learning.

Students can dive into learning when they use headphones to have a book read to them. They dive into learning when they stay organized to complete projects and learn life skills like grit and perseverance. Students dive into learning when they use scissors to cut 3D shapes that help them visualize middle school math concepts.

Having the right equipment in my classroom will make the difference in helping all my students find success in the classroom and in life. So, I invite you to help my students dive into learning. Thank you.
