My Students

Can you imagine never seeing a fish, sea horse, alligator, shark, or any other animal that could live at an aquarium? More than 80% of my students will never get an opportunity during their early school years to visit an aquarium due to financial or transportation limitations. We come from a Title 1 school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. One of the things that my students have in common is that they have never been to an aquarium. Simply going to the grocery store can be a difficult task. My students are very grateful for every opportunity they have in school. Going to the aquarium would be a once in a lifetime trip for most but certainly a first time event for everyone!

My Project

We are a Title One school, and most of our students have not traveled outside of their own neighborhood. This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to be able to go to an aquarium.

We will be learning about different kinds of sea animals and seeing them up close makes all the difference in their learning experience.

When they are given the opportunity to see what they are learning about, their learning becomes more concrete knowledge. We want to make sure that they are able to get the best that they possibly can to help their learning!
