Our middle school is a Title I school with nearly 700 wonderful, talented, hardworking students. All students at our school qualify for free or reduced lunch, and most of their families live below the poverty line. With a student body that is 70% African American and 24% Hispanic or Latinx, our school strives to give them the tools and opportunities that they need to be successful. My students may not have access to the same resources as others, but they are incredible kids with bright futures. Best of all, they LOVE to read!
Help me bring the magic of the Book Fair to my students.
Our school has not had a Book Fair in many years, and I can't wait to change that! The items I have requested in this project will serve mainly to decorate the Media Center in our Book Fair theme, which is "Under the Sea," or "Dive Deep into a Good Book!" The other items will be used as giveaways and freebies, so that no child leaves the Book Fair empty handed, regardless of their families' financial situation. I've found that transforming the Media Center into the Book Fair theme goes a long way towards creating a fun and exciting atmosphere.
