My Project

I strive to provide my students whatever they need to make my flexible seating classroom comfortable and successful for their educational needs. Students with ADHD have a hard time sitting for an entire class period, sometimes even five minutes is difficult. Standing while working or having another flexible seating option is a huge help for these students. Additionally, my classes are not leveled which means that I have a wide array of ability levels and needs within each class. Offering flexible seating options has proven to empower all of my students through student choice and self reflection of how they learn best. Flexible seating helps to create community within my classroom, even amongst very different learners.

The couch that I am requesting will provide seating for three students and create a collaborative, comfortable learning pod in my flexible seating classroom.

The couch is suitably sized to fit my 8th grade students appropriately. The headphones that I am requesting will help to facilitate digital lessons and allow students to work individually on certain assignments without distraction.
