Help me give my students distraction free writing in language arts! Technology has benefits but students are easily distracted by online videos and games which distract from learning. We need paper and pencils to focus on learning again.

My Project
There is no denying the benefits of modern technology; however, any teacher or parent is aware of the captivating power that technology can have over the minds of our children. With years of incorporating almost constant computer use in our classrooms, students are becoming more and more distracted from learning by the overwhelming pull of online videos, social media, and gaming.
The New York Times has recently reported a study that found that adolescents in my student age group, 8th grade, have increased their social media activity to average 8 hours and 39 minutes per day.
As an educator who actively monitors their computers and fights tirelessly to combat the draw of the addictive nature of online platforms, many students are spending a lot of this time online while they're at school and supposed to be participating in learning activities.
I am not asking for the fanciest tech or the newest innovations. This grant is to allow for notebooks, pencils, and pens which will allow my students to once again participate in language arts activities offline and free from the suffocating and destructive power of the misuse of technology in schools. As educators in my school have experimented with minimal computer access, students have begun to flourish in their academics. They are engaged greater and thinking deeper.
Unfortunately, we are a school with a high population of low income students who are often unable to provide basic supplies like pencils and paper. I don't want to experiment anymore with the effectiveness of notebooks, pencils, and pens. We've known for decades that these tools are effective in education and I want to once again bring them back to my students so they may be as successful as their fathers who came before them.
