Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are under the Autism umbrella. They have varying degrees of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
My students with Autism go from students who are non-verbal and show critical communication needs to students who are in need of extensive learning of social and daily life functioning skills.
They are eager to learn every day and become the best they can be with as many learning experiences I can possibly provide them. Every day it's a possibility to gain more and more skills to have a better future.
My Project
During these very difficult times, my students under the umbrella of Autism Spectrum Disorders are facing a sense of anxiety and disorientation. As I speak to more parents, I realize the need for home supplies and leisure materials that can help our student spend some hours away for their electronic devices.
The delivery of fun board games, books, and coloring supplies will bring options to my students and parents to share some time of the day doing activities together while promoting social interaction and just moments where they feel connected with each other.
