This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are motivated, inspired, and eager to learn. A majority of my students are African-American, living in a large, urban area. I teach in a public school in Michigan. This area is filled with predominately working-class families striving to give their children the best educational opportunities available. Our school offers many extra-curricular activities for the students. Some activities we offer are track, golf, basketball, and soccer. Despite some challenges, my students come to school daily, prepared, and eager to learn new math skills in our classroom.
My Project
Please help give my students ink cartridges to assist in providing online Distance Learning materials for students who may not have access to computers while learning remotely. Having a supply of ink cartridges will help service approximately 10% of my disadvantaged students. I teach fifth-grade math. Math matters! Students need fundamental math skills prior to advancing to the next grade level. Having ink cartridges will help provide my fifth-grade students with educational enrichment packets and ultimately help bridge the gaps that many of my students experience without internet or computers.
