This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My English Language Learners (ELL) first grade students are eager, curious and fun with a great imagination. These students come from low social economic households. They are not exposed to many experiences outside of their families and communities.
Many of these students do not have the ability to find resources to learn at home on their own.
They depend on teacher guidance to find available websites and activities to access from home. They struggle but are eager learners despite the current hardships we are enduring.
My Project
My students have been working continuously on the assignments from home. They access various sites like you tube, audible stories and school programs to continue learning. My learners would greatly benefit from me having a laptop with good audio and video capabilities. This would allow virtual communication with the proper tool.
This project will allow me to have a laptop with the essential tools to promote and assist in remote learning.
Once the return to school is possible, this computer will be an asset resource for our classroom. My English Language Learners (ELL) will have access to read audio books, read aloud books or complete targeted independent lessons.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
