Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is full-time distance learning at the moment. We have a wonderful reading and writing program that is dependent on the students being able to see the work I do during the lessons. My students need to be able to see my writing, thinking, and math processes in real time to learn it. Distance learning is challenging enough! They have to pull the learning into their own homes, on a computer all school day. They need to be able to see the words and numbers instead of a blurry something.

Having a headset with a mic and a clear document camera would enable my students to focus on content instead of trying to decipher a blurry image and spotty sound.

I would appreciate any assistance in this endeavor. I bring a love of learning to my teaching and I thank you for your partnership in bringing my students a more rich and engaging lesson experience.

My Project

Currently the doc cam I have to show my teaching to my full-time, online distance 5th grade classroom is blurry and finicky. The quality is not good and the students have a hard time seeing anything from my writing example to working a math problem.

This Doc Cam will provide a sharp image in real time so students can see the content and practice of what I am teaching.

I can scan our text for book clubs and English Language Learner materials, I can work a word problem and have them track the conceptual development, and zoom in for better focus on content. Dividing decimals is tricky to learn the first time and students need to be able to see and hear the lesson. The headphones are to help them hear me better. I need a mic to improve my sound.

I will not let our circumstances get in the way of my students learning. Please contribute to our classroom to make the most of our current mode of teaching. Thanks!
