Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a Title I school, my students come from a wide variety of underpriveledged backgrounds, and a multitude of family and home situations. In general, my students are hard-working, hands-on learners who often struggle with language; my students appreciate the visual and textile experiences of science, and I love exposing them to tangible, visual, and experimental nature of science content.
My students are generally mature enough to appreciate the depth and application of science content, but young enough to still get wide-eyed at the Magic behind Scientific explanations of the world around them.
My Project
I have been teaching Distance Learning Science for about a year now, and it is a struggle to keep a few steps ahead of the students (teaching content I have never taught previously), while learning a whole new way of teaching, AND keeping them engaged. I have been so thankful and pleased with the resources I have found on Teachers Pay Teachers, including many NGSS-aligned engaging lessons that are very little prep and ready to be used online! The students have been really happy to have some really great new lessons, and it has been an absolute life-saver!
Going into the last quarter strong, I really would like to be able to rely on some fresh new exciting lessons to keep my kids learning right until the end!
