This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine you are visiting our school. You are guaranteed to leave with a smile after a visit to our room, due to the infectious nature of 23 energized kindergarteners.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we aren't able to return to our classrooms for the rest of the school year.

Our school is Title I where at least 90% of students receive financial assistance to help pay for their lunches.

My Project

Distance learning is our new "norm" indefinitely, so I started building take-home kits with books, healthy snacks, flash cards, and writing supplies with the Keep Kids Learning Pilot Program. I would like to complete the kit with this project. Each item here is multi-use: watercolor for art and literature reflections, play dough for fine motor recreational activities, language arts, and math representations, and the bags will hold it all together. The stamps will help me continue to send letters and postcards as a way to stay connected with my students and their families.

This is the students' first year in school, and I want to end it on a postive and hopeful note during these challenging times.
