Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a self-contained 3-5 grade special education class. Many come from single family homes and some with multiple siblings. Many of them come from lower income families and live in Upper Manhattan public housing.

My students struggle with learning with in person one-to-one help and now they are struggling more with the remote learning that is expected of them.

My Project

My students need basic supplies in order to continue learning and to be able to practice new skills. They will get books on their levels and of interest to them. They will receive white boards and dry erase markers in order to be able to practice math skills during small math groups.

This is a stressful time and my students need an outlet and tools in order to be able to cope during these challenging time.

They will receive art supplies and other tools to help with this. I am hoping that my students will be able to come out of this well.
