Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students at our school are some of the most amazing young men and women that you have ever met. They come from the inner city and are full of heart and spirit. We do not focus on what we do not have, but what we do have and what we can accomplish. We are an art school. Our students work hard protecting their crafts. We have vocal, dance, art and technology majors. They all impress me every single day.

My Project

My students have special needs and require one on one learning within the classroom. During this time of distance learning I am trying to teach via Facebook but it is very hard to see on my phone.

This Apple-MackBook Air will help me to better equipped at handle our new norm.

I am attempting to turn my living room into a virtual classroom where each student can face time me individually.

Most of my students do not have computers at hom ,but they do have phones. I have bean teaching via Facefime thorough the phone because it is something the students are familiar with.

I am not a worksheet or text book teacher. I like to use a hands on/real work approach. My students can go on Moby Math and Lexia (district approved ELA and Math drill). I can gather information from each test to create individual lessons that address each students needs. I can do one on one lessons with each student.

Some of my students are working on single digit addition while others are working on order of operations and other on statistics. I need to be able to work with each student individually. Please help me be better equipped for the distance learning. Please help me help my students during these trying times.
